Your donations to Brennan Equine Welfare Fund are made though The Greater Cincinnati Foundation and help save the lives of abused and neglected horses! To donate, click the button, above.

(IMPORTANT: On The Greater Cincinnati Foundation donate page, scroll down to the Brennan donate form to make your donation.)

100% of your donation goes towards grants that help equines in need. There is a 3% fee that BEWF is charged to maintain an interest bearing account which, in reality, yields more for grants to help the horses, so essentially, 100% (or more!) goes to the horses as the interest comes back to make more available for grant funding.

You can be assured that all funds go directly to the horses! This can include funds for feed, veterinarian and farrier expenses, farm maintenance, fencing, retraining, medical supplies (wormers, first-aid), and many other expenses. Donations are deposited in an interest-bearing account through The Greater Cincinnati Foundation's 501(c)(3),  so even more funds will be available when distributed as a grant.

Strict qualifying criteria are set up for rescue/rehabilitation/retirement facilities that request and receive grants from Brennan Equine Welfare Fund. This assures that the best interest and welfare of the benefiting horses are the top priority and that they will be provided for with dignity until the end of their natural lives, with no chance of any further neglect, abuse, abandonment, or chance of being sent to slaughter.

Linda Pavey, Founder of Brennan Equine Welfare Fund, frequently visits the facilities that have applied for or received grants from BEWF. This assures that all grants are going to organizations that meet the strict criteria of the best interest of the horses, and allows the benefits from past grants to be seen in person.

  • Estate Giving Through Wills and Trusts

There is a misconception that non-profit organizations such as BEWF are always set with funding to be able to do the work that we are so passionate about and help as many horses in need as possible. The reality is without the gifts left in wills by people like you, many of the charities we know and support today wouldn't even exist. Please consider remembering Brennan Equine Welfare Fund in your will or estate plan and know that you have left a legacy that will help equines in need for years to come. Below you will find sample wording for a bequest to Brennan Equine Welfare Fund. Should you need an attorney or advice preparing your will, please contact us and we will be happy to make a recommendation to you.

"I give and bequeath to the Brennan Equine Welfare Fund of The Greater Cincinnati Foundation an Ohio nonprofit corporation (the sum of money, percentage of estate, or description of gift). I request that (name of authorized investment manager) be named Investment Advisor to hold and administer the Fund in accordance with the Articles of Incorporation and Code of Regulations creating The Greater Cincinnati Foundation, as now or hereafter amended."
